- 2 pounds sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil over medium-high heat. Add sweet potatoes and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Drain the sweet potatoes and return them to the pot.
- Add the softened butter, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and pepper to the sweet potatoes.
- Using a potato masher or electric mixer, whip the sweet potatoes until smooth and creamy.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Serve warm, drizzled with additional maple syrup if desired.

- For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of vanilla extract or a pinch of allspice.
