- 1 French baguette or Italian bread, sliced
- 4–5 ripe tomatoes, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Balsamic glaze for drizzling (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Arrange the sliced bread on a baking sheet and brush both sides with olive oil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss gently to combine.
- Remove the toasted bread from the oven and let cool slightly.
- Spoon the tomato mixture onto each slice of toasted bread.
- Drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired and serve immediately.
