Description
A vibrant and refreshing Thai Beef Salad featuring tender marinated beef, crisp vegetables, and a zesty dressing.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin or flank steak
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 4 cups mixed salad greens
- 1 cup cucumber, thinly sliced
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh mint, chopped
- 1/4 cup roasted peanuts, chopped (optional)
- Lime wedges for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, fish sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger. Mix well.
- Add the beef to the marinade, ensuring it’s well coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated beef for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- In a large bowl, combine salad greens, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, and mint.
- Slice the rested beef thinly against the grain and add it to the salad.
- Drizzle with any remaining marinade or additional lime juice. Toss gently to combine.
- Serve topped with chopped peanuts and lime wedges on the side.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add sliced chili peppers to the salad.
- This salad is best served fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.
