- 4 cups Fresh strawberries (Sliced)
- 1/2 cup Granulated sugar (For macerating strawberries)
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons Baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 cup Unsalted butter (Melted)
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 1 cup Heavy cream (For whipped cream)
- 2 tablespoons Powdered sugar (For whipped cream)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries and granulated sugar. Set aside to macerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool completely.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
- Once the cake is cool, cut it in half horizontally.
- Layer strawberries and whipped cream between the two layers of cake, and top with more strawberries and whipped cream.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- For the best flavor, use fresh, ripe strawberries.
- You can substitute the heavy cream with whipped topping if desired.
- This dessert is best enjoyed the same day it is made.
