Ingredients

  • 4 cups Fresh strawberries (Sliced)
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar (For macerating strawberries)
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter (Melted)
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Heavy cream (For whipped cream)
  • 2 tablespoons Powdered sugar (For whipped cream)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries and granulated sugar. Set aside to macerate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  3. In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Stir in melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool completely.
  8. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  9. Once the cake is cool, cut it in half horizontally.
  10. Layer strawberries and whipped cream between the two layers of cake, and top with more strawberries and whipped cream.
  11. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • For the best flavor, use fresh, ripe strawberries.
  • You can substitute the heavy cream with whipped topping if desired.
  • This dessert is best enjoyed the same day it is made.
