- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Wash and hull the strawberries.
- Slice the strawberries and mix with sugar and lemon juice. Let sit for 30 minutes.
- In a bowl, whip the heavy cream with vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Fold the strawberries into the whipped cream.
- Chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour before serving.
Notes
- Use ripe strawberries for best flavor.
- This dessert can be served with shortcake or on its own.
