- 2 cups strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 2 cups blueberries, fresh or frozen
- 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 package (12 oz) ladyfinger cookies or pound cake, cut into pieces
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and milk until smooth and thickened. Set aside.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the vanilla pudding until well combined.
- In a large trifle dish or individual serving glasses, layer half of the ladyfinger pieces or pound cake on the bottom.
- Add half of the sliced strawberries and half of the blueberries on top of the ladyfingers.
- Spoon half of the pudding mixture over the fruit layer.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients: ladyfingers, strawberries, blueberries, and pudding.
- Top the trifle with any remaining whipped cream and garnish with extra berries if desired.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow flavors to meld.
Notes
- You can substitute other berries or fruits according to your preference.
- For a lighter version, use low-fat milk and reduced-fat whipped topping.
