- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract

- as needed green gel food coloring

Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until the dough forms.
- Divide the dough in half, flatten into discs, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes.
- Place cookies on the prepared baking sheets and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool completely on a wire rack before decorating.
- Prepare royal icing according to package instructions or use a homemade recipe.
- Divide icing into bowls and tint with green gel food coloring as desired.
- Decorate cookies with royal icing and sprinkle gold edible glitter on top for a festive touch.
