Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup fresh herbs (parsley, basil, or dill), chopped
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water (110°F)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add spinach, herbs, olive oil, and milk to the flour mixture.
- Pour in the yeast mixture and stir until combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover. Let it rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
- Place the loaf in a greased bread pan and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let it cool before slicing.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- This bread pairs well with soups and salads.
- You can substitute dried herbs for fresh if needed.
