Description
This Spicy Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich is a perfect blend of crispy fried chicken, spicy gochujang sauce, and fresh vegetables, all served on a soft bun.

- 4 pieces Chicken thighs
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 1 cup All-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup Cornstarch
- 1/4 cup Gochujang sauce
- 1/4 cup Mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- to taste Salt
- to taste Black pepper
- for frying Vegetable oil
- 4 pieces Burger buns
- 4 leaves Lettuce
- 1/2 cup Sliced cucumbers
- 1/2 cup Sliced pickles
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add chicken thighs and marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- In another bowl, mix together flour and cornstarch.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove chicken from marinade, letting excess drip off. Dredge in the flour and cornstarch mixture, pressing to adhere.
- Fry chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
- In a small bowl, mix gochujang sauce and mayonnaise together.
- To assemble the sandwiches, spread gochujang mayo on the top and bottom of each bun. Layer with lettuce, fried chicken, sliced cucumbers, and pickles.
- Close the sandwich and serve immediately.
Notes
- Feel free to adjust the spice level of the gochujang sauce to suit your taste.
- For extra crunch, you can add coleslaw to the sandwich.
