- 12 ounces spaghetti or your favorite pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1–2 tablespoons Calabrian chili paste (adjust to taste)
- 1 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 8 ounces burrata cheese
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Stir in the Calabrian chili paste and cook for another minute, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Add the crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet along with the reserved pasta water, mixing well to combine.
- Remove from heat and stir in the fresh basil.
- Serve the pasta topped with pieces of burrata cheese and a sprinkle of grated Parmesan.
Notes
- Adjust the level of spiciness by varying the amount of Calabrian chili paste used.
- Feel free to add sautéed vegetables or protein for extra flavor and nutrition.
