Description

A classic Italian-American dish featuring tender meatballs served over spaghetti in a rich marinara sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
  • 12 ounces spaghetti
  • Extra Parmesan cheese for serving
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  6. In a large skillet, heat the marinara sauce over medium heat. Add the baked meatballs to the sauce and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  7. Serve the meatballs and sauce over the cooked spaghetti. Garnish with extra Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.

Notes

  • You can use ground turkey or chicken as a lighter alternative to beef.
  • Feel free to add crushed red pepper flakes to the sauce for extra heat.
  • For a more flavorful sauce, simmer with herbs like oregano and thyme.
