Ingredients

  • 4 slices of sourdough bread
  • 4 ounces smoked brisket, sliced
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the Dijon mustard and mayonnaise together.
  3. Spread the mixture evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
  4. On the uncoated side of two slices, layer the smoked brisket and cheddar cheese.
  5. Top with the remaining slices of bread, coated side facing out.
  6. Spread softened butter on the outside of each sandwich.
  7. Place the sandwiches in the preheated skillet and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  8. Once both sides are golden and the cheese is melted, remove from the skillet.
  9. Slice in half and serve hot.
