Description
Indulge in these rich and gooey mini chocolate lava cakes, perfect for a small dessert that impresses!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Powdered sugar for dusting
- Vanilla ice cream (optional for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with flour.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and chocolate chips together in 30-second increments until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg yolks, and granulated sugar until pale and slightly thickened.
- Stir the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture until well combined. Add the flour, vanilla extract, and salt, mixing until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are firm but the center is soft.
- Let cool for 1 minute, then invert onto plates. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with vanilla ice cream if desired.
Notes
- For an extra touch, add a spoonful of peanut butter or caramel into the center before baking.
- Make sure not to overbake; the center should be molten for that perfect lava effect.
