- 1 lb ground beef or lamb
- 1 cup diced onions
- 2 cups mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the ground meat over medium heat.
- Add onions and garlic, sauté until onions are translucent.
- Stir in mixed vegetables, tomato paste, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce; simmer for 10 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Spread the meat mixture in a baking dish and top with mashed potatoes.
- Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top and bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, substitute ground meat with lentils or mushrooms.
- Feel free to add your favorite herbs for extra flavor.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and frozen for later use.
