- 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 ripe pears, sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
- 1 cup arugula, for topping
- Balsamic glaze, for drizzling (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
- In a bowl, toss the sliced pears with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Spread the pears out on a baking sheet and roast in the oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until they are tender and slightly caramelized. Remove from the oven and set aside.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer to a pizza peel or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spread the crumbled Gorgonzola cheese evenly over the dough, followed by the mozzarella cheese.
- Add the roasted pears on top of the cheese, and sprinkle with chopped walnuts if using.
- Transfer the pizza to the preheated oven (or onto the pizza stone) and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a minute. Top with fresh arugula and drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired.
- Slice and serve immediately.
Notes
- Feel free to add other toppings like caramelized onions or prosciutto for extra flavor.
- For a healthier option, use whole wheat pizza dough.
