Ingredients

  • 12 jumbo pasta shells
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups vodka sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Spread 1 cup of vodka sauce on the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Stuff each cooked pasta shell with the ricotta mixture and place them in the baking dish on top of the sauce.
  6. Pour the remaining vodka sauce over the stuffed shells.
  7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the sauce is bubbly and the cheese is melted.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

  • You can make the vodka sauce from scratch or use a store-bought version for convenience.
  • Feel free to add cooked ground meat or sautéed vegetables to the ricotta filling for added flavor.
  • These stuffed shells can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated until ready to bake.
