- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups milk

- 1/2 cup maple syrup

- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cut the stale bread into cubes and place them in a greased baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, pumpkin puree, maple syrup, pumpkin spice, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring all pieces are well coated.
- Let the mixture soak for at least an hour, or overnight in the refrigerator.
- If desired, sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts on top before baking.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is set.
