- 1 1/2 cups Granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon Baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large Eggs
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
- 1 cup Milk
- as needed Food coloring (optional)
- 2 cups Buttercream frosting
- for decoration Sprinkles
- for decoration Graduation-themed decorations
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two bento cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the softened butter and mix until crumbly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, vanilla extract, and milk.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
- If desired, divide the batter and add food coloring to create different layers.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, level the tops of the cakes if necessary, then layer them with buttercream frosting in between.
- Frost the outside of the cake with more buttercream and decorate with sprinkles and graduation-themed decorations.

Notes
- For a chocolate version, substitute 1/2 cup of flour with cocoa powder.
