  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

This classic peach cobbler is a delicious dessert that showcases the sweet and juicy flavors of fresh peaches, topped with a buttery biscuit crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh peaches, sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix well and let it sit for about 10 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining sugar.
  4. Add in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the flour mixture. Stir until just combined.
  5. Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the batter over the peaches, covering as much surface area as possible.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the peaches are bubbling.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your peach cobbler warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can sprinkle some chopped pecans or walnuts on top before baking.
  • If using canned peaches, drain them well and reduce the sugar to taste.
