  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

A classic peach cobbler recipe featuring sweet, juicy peaches topped with a buttery biscuit-like crust. Perfect for summer gatherings or cozy winter nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and lemon juice. Toss to coat the peaches evenly. Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and the remaining 1/2 cup of granulated sugar.
  4. Stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined. Spoon the batter over the peaches, covering them evenly.
  5. Sprinkle brown sugar and nutmeg over the batter.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the cobbler comes out clean.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving. Best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of cardamom or ginger to the peach filling.
  • You can use frozen peaches if fresh ones are not available; just make sure to thaw and drain them before use.
  • Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for a delicious dessert.
