- 6 large croissants, torn into pieces
- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1/2 cup diced ham or cooked bacon (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- Spread the torn croissant pieces evenly in the baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika until well combined.
- Pour the egg mixture over the croissant pieces, ensuring they are well soaked.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese and diced ham or bacon evenly on top.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight (or for at least 4 hours) to allow the croissants to soak up the egg mixture.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the casserole from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 20 minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the casserole is set and golden brown on top.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
