Description
A juicy beef burger topped with sautéed mushrooms and melted Swiss cheese, served on a toasted bun.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lettuce, tomato, and onion for toppings (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms and sauté until browned and tender, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, then stir in Worcestershire sauce. Remove from heat.
- Form the ground beef into 4 equal patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Grill or cook the patties on the skillet for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness is reached.
- Place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking, covering with a lid to help melt the cheese.
- Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or skillet until golden brown.
- To assemble, place the burger patty on the bottom half of the bun, top with sautéed mushrooms, and add any additional toppings if desired. Close with the top half of the bun and serve.
