Description
Deliciously savory and tender Mongolian beef served over a bed of noodles, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz (225 g) egg noodles or your choice of noodles
- 1 lb (450 g) flank steak, sliced thinly against the grain
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) soy sauce
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece ginger, grated
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, and cornstarch until well combined. Add the sliced flank steak and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic, grated ginger, and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in beef broth and bring to a simmer. Return the beef to the skillet and add sliced green onions. Toss to coat the beef in the sauce.
- Add cooked noodles to the skillet and toss everything together until the noodles are well coated and heated through.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot.
Notes
- You can substitute flank steak with sirloin or ribeye for a different flavor.
- Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli for extra nutrition.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar to suit your taste.
