  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

Deliciously savory and tender Mongolian beef served over a bed of noodles, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (225 g) egg noodles or your choice of noodles
  • 1 lb (450 g) flank steak, sliced thinly against the grain
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, and cornstarch until well combined. Add the sliced flank steak and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add minced garlic, grated ginger, and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in beef broth and bring to a simmer. Return the beef to the skillet and add sliced green onions. Toss to coat the beef in the sauce.
  6. Add cooked noodles to the skillet and toss everything together until the noodles are well coated and heated through.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

  • You can substitute flank steak with sirloin or ribeye for a different flavor.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli for extra nutrition.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar to suit your taste.
