- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/4 cups (250g) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (200g) packed brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup (130g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (240ml) miso caramel sauce
- Sea salt for sprinkling on top
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
- Add in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Drizzle half of the miso caramel sauce over the brownie batter, then use a knife to swirl it slightly.
- Pour the remaining brownie batter on top and repeat the caramel drizzle and swirl with the remaining miso caramel sauce.
- Sprinkle sea salt on top to enhance the flavor.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
- For the miso caramel sauce, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar, 1/4 cup of water, and 1/2 cup of miso paste in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until thickened.
- These brownies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
