- 2 ripe mangoes (peeled, pitted, and diced)
- 1/4 red onion (finely chopped)
- 1 jalapeño pepper (seeded and minced (adjust to taste))
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro (chopped)
- 2 tablespoons lime juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (freshly cracked)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the diced mangoes, chopped red onion, minced jalapeño, and chopped cilantro.
- Drizzle the lime juice over the mixture, then sprinkle with salt and black pepper.
- Toss gently to combine all the ingredients, ensuring the mango is well coated with the lime juice.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed, adding more salt or lime juice to preference.
- Let the salsa sit for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve with grilled meats, fish, or as a dip with tortilla chips.
Notes
- For a sweeter salsa, choose very ripe mangoes.
- Adjust the heat level by adding more or less jalapeño.
- Mango salsa can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
