Description
A classic Key Lime Pie made with fresh key lime juice, sweetened condensed milk, and a buttery graham cracker crust.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 large egg yolks
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup fresh key lime juice
- 1 tablespoon key lime zest
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Whipped cream, for serving
- Lime slices, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, mix together the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until well combined.
- Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie pan.
- Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk, key lime juice, lime zest, and salt until smooth.
- Pour the filling into the cooled crust and spread evenly.
- Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the filling is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
- Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving.
- Serve chilled with whipped cream and lime slices for garnish.
Notes
- For a more intense lime flavor, increase the amount of lime zest.
- If you cannot find key limes, regular limes can be substituted, but the flavor will be slightly different.
