Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine chicken pieces and buttermilk. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- In another bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper with the flour.
- In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
- Remove chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, then dip back into the buttermilk, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add chicken pieces in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
- Fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
- Feel free to adjust spices according to your preference.
- For extra crunch, double dip the chicken in the breadcrumbs.
- These starters can be served with a variety of sauces such as ranch, barbecue, or honey mustard.
