Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1/2 pound ground pork or chicken
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons chili oil
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Soy sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and hot water. Stir until a dough forms, then knead until smooth. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix ground meat, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, chili oil, ginger, green onions, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Roll the rested dough into a long log and cut into small pieces. Roll each piece into a circle about 3 inches in diameter.
  4. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each dumpling wrapper. Fold and pinch the edges to seal.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add dumplings in a single layer and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add a splash of water to the pan and cover immediately to steam the dumplings for about 5 minutes.
  7. Remove the lid and let the dumplings fry for another minute to crisp up the bottoms.
  8. Serve with soy sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, substitute the meat with finely chopped mushrooms or tofu.
  • Adjust the amount of chili oil to your spice preference.
