  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup honey for glazing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and honey.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Grease a cast-iron skillet with butter or cooking spray and pour in the batter.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. While the cornbread is baking, prepare the honey butter by mixing softened butter and honey together until smooth.
