- 1 tablespoon baking powder

- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup honey for glazing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and honey.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Grease a cast-iron skillet with butter or cooking spray and pour in the batter.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the cornbread is baking, prepare the honey butter by mixing softened butter and honey together until smooth.
- Once the cornbread is done, remove from the oven and brush the top generously with the honey butter.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a sweeter cornbread, you can increase the sugar to 1/2 cup.
