Homemade Waffles: The Perfect Recipe for 4 Fluffy Servings

  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

Light and fluffy homemade waffles that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Perfect for breakfast or brunch!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs and then whisk in the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.
  5. Grease the waffle iron with non-stick spray or a little oil if needed.
  6. Pour the batter onto the preheated waffle iron, using the recommended amount for your specific model.
  7. Close the lid and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crispy, usually about 5 minutes.
  8. Carefully remove the waffles and serve immediately with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • For extra fluffy waffles, separate the egg whites and beat them until stiff peaks form, then fold them into the batter at the end.
  • You can keep cooked waffles warm in a low oven while you finish cooking the rest.
