Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup Hawaiian BBQ sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon ginger powder
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, mix together the Hawaiian BBQ sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, ginger powder, vegetable oil, salt, and pepper.
- Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over the chicken. Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. If baking, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Remove the chicken from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off. Discard the marinade.
- Grill the chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked (internal temperature of 165°F or 75°C). If baking, place the chicken in a baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Once cooked, remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes.
- Slice the chicken and serve with chopped green onions on top.
Notes
- For extra flavor, try adding pineapple slices to the grill during the last few minutes of cooking.
- This recipe can also be used with pork or tofu for a different variation.
