Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar.
  2. In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. The batter should be smooth but thick.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Using a funnel or squeeze bottle, pour the batter into the hot oil in a spiral pattern, starting from the center and working your way outwards.
  6. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
