- 8 ounces Pasta
- 2 cups Fresh Basil
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 1/4 cup Pine Nuts
- 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese
- 1/2 cup Olive Oil
- to taste Salt
- to taste Pepper
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a food processor, combine fresh basil, garlic, pine nuts, and Parmesan cheese. Pulse until finely chopped.
- With the food processor running, slowly drizzle in olive oil until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta with the pesto. Toss until the pasta is evenly coated.
- Serve immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and fresh basil if desired.
Notes
- You can store any leftover pesto in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- Feel free to add cooked chicken, shrimp, or vegetables for extra protein and nutrients.
