Crispy and delicious homemade egg rolls cooked to perfection in an air fryer for a healthier twist on a classic favorite.


Ingredients

  • 1 package egg roll wrappers
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 cup cooked and shredded chicken or pork (optional)
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, cooked meat (if using), green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
  2. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with one corner pointing towards you.
  3. Place about 2 tablespoons of the filling mixture in the center of the wrapper.
  4. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll tightly to enclose the filling. Seal the edge with a little water if necessary.
  5. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  6. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
  7. Spray the egg rolls lightly with cooking spray.
  8. Place the egg rolls in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they are not touching.
  9. Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
  10. Remove from the air fryer and serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize the filling with your favorite vegetables or proteins.
  • For a vegetarian version, omit the meat and add extra vegetables.
  • Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket for even cooking.
