Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package of phyllo pastry dough
- 1 cup of ricotta cheese
- 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup of chopped spinach (fresh or frozen)
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Olive oil (for brushing)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, chopped spinach, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Unroll the phyllo pastry dough and cut it into squares (about 4×4 inches).
- Layer two squares of phyllo dough on top of each other, brushing olive oil between the layers.
- Place a spoonful of the cheese mixture in the center of each phyllo square.
- Fold the corners of the square over the filling to create a pocket and seal them well.
- Brush the tops of the pockets with egg wash.
- Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve warm and enjoy your party appetizers!
Notes
- You can add diced ham or cooked bacon to the cheese mixture for extra flavor.
- These can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking. Just add a few extra minutes to the baking time if baking from frozen.
- Serve with a dipping sauce like marinara or ranch for added appeal.
