Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, beans)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 cups water

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft.
  5. Add mixed vegetables, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Stir well.
  6. Add rice and water. Bring to a boil.
  7. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  8. Turn off the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

  • Serve with yogurt or pickle for added flavor.
