- 1 package of puff pastry sheets
- 1 cup of cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup of fresh chives, chopped
- 1/2 cup of diced bell pepper (red or green)
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Assorted crackers for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into squares.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped chives, diced bell pepper, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until combined.
- Place a spoonful of the cheese mixture in the center of each puff pastry square.
- Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to create a pocket and seal the edges by pressing down.
- Brush the tops of the pastries with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Arrange the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving with assorted crackers.
Notes
- Feel free to customize the filling with your favorite ingredients, such as spinach or bacon.
- These appetizers can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking. Just add a few extra minutes to the baking time if baking from frozen.
