- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
- Mix in the baking soda and salt.
- Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
- Stir in the flour until just incorporated.
- Fold in the chopped walnuts or pecans.
- Pour the batter into a greased 4×8 inch loaf pan.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding chocolate chips or cinnamon.
- Make sure your bananas are very ripe for the best sweetness.
- Store leftover banana bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
