  • 1 sliced Tomato (Optional, for freshness.)
  • 4 slices Pickles (Optional, for tanginess.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat a cast-iron skillet or griddle over high heat.
  2. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions (about 4 ounces each).
  3. Season each portion with salt and black pepper.
  4. Place two portions of beef onto the hot skillet, pressing down firmly with a spatula to smash them flat.
  5. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the edges are crispy, then flip and immediately place a slice of cheese on each patty.
