doctor graduation cake for a Perfect Celebration of Success

  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

This doctor graduation cake is a celebratory dessert that pays tribute to a hard-earned achievement. Decorated with medical-themed accents, it’s perfect for honoring a new doctor’s graduation. The cake is moist, fluffy, and can be customized with favorite flavors and fillings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttercream frosting
  • Fondant in various colors (for decoration)
  • Cake board or serving platter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, frost the top of one cake layer with buttercream frosting, then place the second layer on top. Frost the top and sides of the entire cake.
  9. Roll out fondant and cut out shapes to create medical-themed decorations (like stethoscopes, caps, or caduceus symbols) and place them on the cake as desired.
  10. Display the cake on a cake board or serving platter and enjoy celebrating the achievement!

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider adding lemon or almond extract to the cake batter.
  • You can also add food coloring to the frosting or fondant to match the graduation colors.
  • Make sure the cake is fully cooled before decorating to prevent melting the frosting.
  • This cake can be made a day in advance; just store it in an airtight container at room temperature.
