Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add cold butter to the flour mixture and mix until crumbly.
  4. Pour in the yeast mixture and stir until a dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  6. Wrap the dough in plastic and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  7. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, fold it into thirds, and refrigerate again for 30 minutes.
  8. Repeat the rolling and folding process two more times.
  9. Cut the dough into triangles and roll them into croissant shapes.
  10. Place on a baking sheet and let rise for 1 hour.
  11. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  12. Brush croissants with egg wash and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
