Description
This Creamy Chicken Marsala is a deliciously rich and flavorful dish made with tender chicken breasts, mushrooms, and a creamy Marsala wine sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, for dredging
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup Marsala wine
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then dredge in flour, shaking off excess.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 5-6 minutes per side. Remove chicken and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Pour in Marsala wine and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Allow the wine to reduce by half.
- Add chicken broth, heavy cream, and dried thyme. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and simmer until cooked through and sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- Serve over pasta or with a side of vegetables for a complete meal.
- For added flavor, consider marinating the chicken in herbs and spices before cooking.
