- 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Olive oil spray
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
- In a shallow dish, mix the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness for uniform cooking.
- Spray each chicken breast lightly with olive oil, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
- Place the coated chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Spray the tops lightly with olive oil.
- Cook in the air fryer for 10 minutes. Flip the chicken and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Remove the chicken, spoon marinara sauce over each breast, and sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
- Return to the air fryer and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil if desired.
Notes
- For extra crunch, you can double-coat the chicken by dipping it in beaten egg before the breadcrumb mixture.
- Feel free to use store-bought marinara sauce or make your own for a fresh touch.
- Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer; cook in batches if necessary.
