Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ears of corn, husked
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
- Husk the corn and remove all silk. Rinse under cold water and pat dry.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until sugar dissolves and mixture is smooth.
- Add heavy cream to the mixture and bring to a gentle boil. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
- Place corn on the grill, turning every few minutes, until tender and charred, about 10-15 minutes.
- Brush the caramel sauce over the grilled corn generously, allowing it to caramelize for an additional 2-3 minutes on the grill.
- Remove from grill, let cool slightly, and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, sprinkle with chili powder or parmesan cheese before serving.
- Make sure to watch the caramel closely to avoid burning.
