Description
A simple and delicious recipe for a perfectly cooked beef steak, seasoned to perfection.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 beef steaks (ribeye, sirloin, or filet mignon)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Fresh herbs (such as rosemary or thyme), for garnish
- Butter, for basting
Instructions
- Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.
- Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Drizzle olive oil on both sides and season generously with salt and black pepper.
- Add the steaks to the hot grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them.
- Flip the steaks and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, or longer for desired doneness.
- In the last minute of cooking, add butter and minced garlic to the pan, basting the steaks with the melted butter.
- Remove the steaks from the heat and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately.
Notes
- For optimal flavor, use high-quality beef steaks.
- Letting the steak rest after cooking allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a juicier steak.
- Adjust cooking times based on the thickness of the steak and your desired level of doneness.
