  • 8 oz (225g) pasta (penne or spaghetti recommended)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese for serving
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until softened.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned and no longer pink.
