Ingredients

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Skewers (wooden or metal)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, paprika, salt, black pepper, and beaten egg.
  2. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined. Do not overmix.
  3. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion into an elongated patty around the skewer.
  4. Preheat the grill or oven to medium-high heat.
  5. Place the skewers on the grill or a baking sheet if using the oven.
  6. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the kofta are cooked through and have a nice char.
  7. Serve hot with pita bread, yogurt sauce, and fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the kofta in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before cooking.
