  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, green onions

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  2. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and bell pepper. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to toast the spices.
  4. Add the crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, and beef broth. Stir to combine.
  5. Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
