Ingredients

  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup water
  • 6 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 1 can refried beans
  • 1 cup salsa
  • Sour cream and chopped cilantro for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent.
  2. Drain any excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  3. Warm the tortillas in a microwave or on a skillet until pliable.
  4. Spread a layer of refried beans on each tortilla, followed by a generous scoop of the beef mixture, cheese, and salsa.
  5. Roll up each tortilla tightly, folding in the sides as you go.
  6. Place the burritos seam-side down in a baking dish. If desired, sprinkle extra cheese on top.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes until heated through.
  8. Serve with sour cream and cilantro if desired.
