Description

This tender and flavorful oven-baked beef brisket is perfect for family dinners and special occasions. With a savory rub and slow cooking, it delivers juicy results every time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 45 lbs beef brisket
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
  4. In a large oven-safe pot or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket on both sides until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  5. Remove the brisket from the pot and set aside. In the same pot, add sliced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until translucent.
  6. Return the brisket to the pot, adding beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer.
  7. Cover the pot with a lid or foil and transfer it to the preheated oven.
  8. Bake for 4-5 hours, or until the brisket is fork-tender. Check occasionally and add more broth if needed.
  9. Once done, remove from the oven and let it rest for 20-30 minutes before slicing against the grain.

Notes

  • For best results, use a quality cut of brisket.
  • Leftover brisket can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
